2009-2010 SSAA 11u Travel Baseball
Sharon Springs has announced it will be going to three travel teams in the 11U age group. The named coaches are: Dennis Baus, David Graczyk and Zack Alexander. All three coaches will be at the tryouts and assessing the players who attend. Each coach will also provide you information about their team plans for the upcoming season at tryouts as well.
Tryout Dates: Saturday, August 1 from 9-1pm on Field 3 at Sharon Springs
Sunday, August 2 from 1-4 on Field 6 at Sharon Springs
Saturday, August 8 from 9-1pm on Field 3 at Sharon Springs
Sunday, August 9 from 1-4pm on Field 6 (If Needed/potential call back day)
Tryouts information needed: Attached is a tryout registration form which needs to be filled out and turned in. Please e-mail it todennis.baus@yahoo.com or you can bring it with you to tryouts on Saturday. Please note we would like as many of these in advance as we would like to stagger each players arrival time on Saturday for tryouts to prevent some unnecessary waiting.
Tryout Format:
Saturday, August 1 will simply be a skills assessment of everybody trying out for one of the teams. Sunday, August 2nd we will break the entire group of kids trying out into teams and have them play a controlled scrimmage which will include pitching and hitting off one another. This will give each player an opportunity to show where they are at when it comes to game situations.Saturday, August 8th - Realizing that some kids may be out of town during the first weekend of tryouts, we will be holding skill assessments for those who could not make the first weekend on this date from 9-10am or longer if needed. After 10am on Saturday, August 8th, we will play another set of games with the candidates as some of them may not have been able to attend the prior weekend. (YOUR SON MAY BE ASKED TO PLAY IN GAMES BOTH WEEKENDS)
Does my son need to be there all tryout dates the full 4 hours? No, that is why we are asking for your information in advance, we will assign each player a tryout window for Saturday, August 1st between 9-1pm. If you are out of town that day, you will automatically default to Saturday, August 8th at 9:00am. As for Sunday, August 2nd, you will be notified of what time your son should arrive for their game on Sunday. They will be assigned to a dugout and given a shirt color (White or Black) to wear for their assigned team. The game will be about an hour and a half. The first game will start at 1pm and the 2nd starting at 2:30pm.
What if we are out of town? Again, please see above information, we have worked that into the plan. We will do all we can to work around travel plans.
We know this is a lot of information, but please review it carefully as we would like to remove all confusion. Additionally, please share this information with your friends who have players who may be interested in trying out for a Sharon Springs team.
