Tryouts will be held at Sharon Springs on Field 7 from 2pm-6pm on August 2 and August 9.
You only need to attend one day. Please fill out the application found on the main travel page and have it with you at tryouts or email to Coach Ted Kimbrell (tedkimbrell@comcast.net) prior to August 2. It would be helpful to notify Coach Kimbrell in advance of your planned date of attendance. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
There will be two teams from Sharon Springs.
Blue team Ted Kimbrell (tedkimbrell@comcast.net) is returning as the coach of the Blue team. The Blue team will play approx a 70 game schedule which includes 12 tournaments culminating with the Ripkin experience in late June in Myrtle Beach.
Silver team will be coached by Stephen Fuller (ssaa.baseball@gmail.com). This is a new team being formed out of Sharon Springs. The team will begin on the AA level with the goal to be highly competitive. The team will practice and or scrimmage on Sundays in the fall with a goal of weekly pitching and cage work (consideration will be made for players in football). The team will play one or two fall tournaments (again consideration will be made for those playing football). The team will play in Lanier League for the 2010 season in 20-24 regular season games AND play in 12 tournaments. Their will be approximately 6 tournaments through May with an additional 6 tournaments starting in May. (This will be a 60+ game schedule). The end of the year goal of the team will be to go to the new facility in Louisville Kentucky being constructed by Nations Baseball with alternative plans to attend the Grand Slam World Series in Panama City or Cal Ripken in Myrtle Beach. The team will participate in end of the year State tournaments through either USSSA or Nations Baseball. The target date for the season will be most likely late June to mid July 2010. If the team’s budget allows we will obtain some professional coaching.
Any additional teams will depend upon tryouts.
