Welcome to Sharon Springs Recreation Baseball 2019 Spring Season

Sharon Springs is an excellent place to play baseball.  We are excited to begin the 2019 season.  This page will provide you with the general details and dates for the upcoming season.

Evaluations will be held at Sharon Springs Park on Sat Jan 26th.  Fields #3 and #4.  Please look for the check in table between fields 3 and 4.
  

New for 2019

The 9/10U age group will continue the county wide Majors/Minors program.  The goal of this program is to offer both a quality recreational and competitive brand of baseball.  


Winter training is also available for the upcoming spring season.  In coordination with Windward Baseball Academy registration for a pre-season clinic and other clinics are available.  Space is limited so be sure to register early. For more detail see Main Rec Page

Season Info – What to expect

The season begins with an evaluation day.  Players are evaluated on hitting, fielding, and throwing.  Evaluations help ensure competitive balance among the teams.  All players are required to attend evaluation day.  Evaluators are comprised of previous coaches and independent volunteers. There will be 3 divisions of play.  10U Majors, 9U Majors, and 9/10 combined Minors.

Getting Involved as a Coach

Interested in coaching? No experience is needed, just a positive attitude and a love for the kids and the game.  If you are interested in volunteering please complete the coach’s application and background check form.  Coaches Page

Need a little push to volunteer?  $75 will be credited back to head coaches.

Additional Info

 Majors

The Majors program is an alternative to travel ball, offering a highly competitive style of baseball at a reduced cost and time commitment.  A player will not be considered for a Majors roster spot if they do not attend evaluation day.  The number of majors’ teams is determined by the total enrollment in the age group. Majors roster spots are not determined until after evaluations.  

 

Rule changes:

Pitching Majors – Full Kid Pitch

Pitching Minors – Full Kid Pitch

Baserunning – Stealing is permitted once the ball crosses home plate. (2nd and 3rd only)

Bats - All bats must have the USA Baseball Stamp or the USSSA BPF 1.15 Stamp

Sunday Select is the SSAA all-star selection process. More info to follow


Professional Services
We are excited to continue to offer professional services to continue to upgrade our brand of baseball at Sharon Springs. Position clinics, team support from local high schools, and other highly qualified coaching in our area will be part of Sharon Springs program this year.
