Sunday Select Run by Professional Services

Sunday Select is the all-star selection process at Sharon Springs. Players with the highest evaluation scores, and head coach referred players attend 2-hour practices on Sunday afternoons. Upon conclusion of the 6-week process, all-star (and potentially development) teams are selected. This year, professional services will run each of these practices:

  • Rawlings Southeast will run 6U-8U Sunday Select practices. Our 9U and above travel teams at SSAA are Rawlings Southeast branded and run teams. By partnering with Rawlings Southeast for 6U-8U Sunday Select, players will learn the system and techniques that Rawlings teaches, so that players can compete for major and travel spots beginning at 9U and above.
  • Windward Baseball Academy will run 9U-10U Sunday Select practices. Howie McCann and his group of coaches at WBA have delivered professionally run clinics at SSAA for many years and we are pleased that they they will bring their expertise to Sunday Select.
  • D-Bat Johns Creek will run 11U-14U Sunday Select practices. D-Bat is a great partner that offers free cage nights to SSAA, discounted cage rentals to SSAA coaches, and will run our Friday Night clinics this season. We are very excited that they will bring their expertise to Sunday Select.

How to get Involved

Are you interested in getting involved as coach? Are you hesitant because you haven’t coached a team before? We have you covered! All you need is a positive attitude, desire to influence youth, and passion for the game. SSAA will provide the rest. We offer coaching clinics at the start of every season. These clinics are run by Howie McCann’s Windward Baseball Academy. They will show you how to run a practice, provide you sample practice plans, and teach you many drills to build fundamentals in your players.

Need even more incentive? Head coaches are reimbursed part of their registration fee each year. If you are interested in volunteering as a head or assistant coach, please complete the coaches' application and background check found under For Coaches How to Volunteer once registration opens in December.

Coaches will receive a $75 fee reimbursement if they complete all of the following:
1. Attend the SSAA coaches meeting
2. Attend (or have an AC attend) the coaches clinic
3. Have a team coordinator present at the Team Coordinator meeting
4. Return their equipment (either themselves or someone from the head coaches team)
